Your first capture
On Try it free, enter the full address of a public page (starting with https://), choose a device view and your email, and accept the Terms. We email you a confirmation link — open it and the capture starts. The status page updates every few seconds and shows a download button when the PDF is ready.
Free captures cover the landing page only, in one device view, and are deleted after 7 days.

- Check spam, junk and quarantine folders — corporate filters sometimes hold automated mail.
- Make sure the address was typed correctly; you can submit the form again.
- Links expire after a while and work once. If yours has expired, request a new one.
- Still nothing? Contact us with the address you used.
Reading the PDF
The first page is a cover page with the start URL, job ID and capture date and time in UTC and IST. Each web page then follows as one full-length PDF page. Use the bookmarks panel to jump between pages and device views. Links between captured pages jump within the PDF; links to other sites open in your browser.
Very long pages are kept at full length. If a viewer limit required scaling, the capture report says which pages were affected.
Verifying the SHA-256 checksum
The status page and reports show a SHA-256 checksum for every output. To check a downloaded file:
- macOS or Linux:
shasum -a 256 capture.pdf - Windows PowerShell:
Get-FileHash capture.pdf -Algorithm SHA256
The value must match exactly. The checksum cannot be printed inside the PDF itself, because adding it would change the file.
Animations, carousels and video
Animations are settled to their end state before capture so text is fully visible. Carousels, videos and animations are listed in the motion content report so reviewers know what a static PDF cannot show. Customers can use recipes to capture each carousel slide or key animation frames — see the Recipes guide.
Staging sites and logins
Customer organisations can capture sites protected by HTTP Basic or NTLM authentication and use a recipe's login steps for HCP member areas. Enter credentials when you start the job; recipes refer to them as {{secret.name}}. Credentials are encrypted on receipt and deleted when the job ends.
When a capture fails or is partial
- Site not reachable — the address must be public. Private networks and internal hosts are blocked for security.
- Blocked by the site — some sites block automated browsers; ask the site owner to allow captures, or contact us.
- Partial — the PDF is usable but some pages or steps did not complete. The crawl report lists what was skipped and why.
- Recipe step failed — check the selector still exists on the page and use Test run in the recipe editor.
